From broken pipes to ice roads to airplane rides and dogs howling, non stop work and play. Always busy is the life of one in the Arctic. No time for television. No time for being bored. Always something to repair. Always something to ignore or embrace. A microscope of sorts.
The gold rush of Alaska has long gone but the mentality has stayed. Dropping out from society has never been so appealing, difficult to maintain sanity. Impossible to return to the hustle of civilization, we are all stuck here together. Each one has a reason. A game of who hid the candle stick in the dining room, like Clue, is played with each arriving character. Who ran away to the Arctic and why.
Looking past differences has never proved to be more difficult.
Although rarely do we admit it, we all need each other in one way or another.
